数学的位置

In order to correctly place students in mathematics courses at Indiana State Universty, students are required to take the 数学的位置. All students (incoming and transfer)  are required to take the online 数学的位置.  If you are an incoming ISU student, the test must be completed before attending the State Start-Up orientation. This is a requirement for all students that are new to ISU. 

The only exception may be for recent high school graduates who scored a B or better in both semesters of high school Algebra II. Keep in mind that some of the science and major courses also require the score from the math placement. It is best to complete the 数学的位置.   The 数学的位置 should be completed in advance to prevent running into any barriers during registration.  This will ensure that you are able to register for the best courses for your degree path. If your score is below the prerequisite score for 基金会al Studies Quantitave Literacy but you met the prerequisite with your high school math classes, you may still be able to register for the 基金会al Studies Quantitative Literacy class.  Your advisor will be able to assist you to make this determination at the time of registration.

The 数学的位置 will help an advisor put you in the math course where you will be most successful.  There is no charge to take the 数学的位置.  

学生 who have not taken the 数学的位置 will be placed in the lowest math class.

1. 点击 数学的位置. (http://indstate.instructure.com/enroll/DY8JFN) The Canvas enrollment screen will launch.

2. 点击 Enroll in Course when you see 数学的位置 Test 2024

3. 点击Go to Course

4. 阅读说明:

• 有两个测试. If you earn a 12 or higher on Test A, then you will be required to take Test B immediately following Test A. Access Test B by clicking the Return box in the upper right-hand corner of your Test A results.
• Items needed for testing purposes: a photo ID, calculator (no phone apps), 网络摄像头, scratch paper and writing utensil.
• The test needs to be completed in one sitting and in a quiet space away from distractions. There is no time limit, but if your computer falls asleep it will end your test session. Estimated time to complete: 45 mins.
• Below are the minimum standard specifications for hardware and software 为了… 完成测试:
• Windows 10/Windows 11 or MacOS 10.13岁或以上*
• Wireless Connectivity (802.11b /g或802.11 b / g / n)
• 2.0GHz Dual Core Processor or higher - AMD or Intel Processors ONLY
• Current virus and threat protection (Windows Defender will suffice)
• 8 gb内存
• 120 GB Hard Drive or higher
• In good working condition
• NO CHROMEBOOKS: These devices are not sufficient to complete all academic work at ISU.  They will not install the necessary software.  Additionally, newer Chromebooks have changed their wireless connectivity band to exclusively 802.11 ac, which has limited availability and does not work with the Lockdown Browser.
